Medical Practitioner (GP)
We are looking for Medical Practitioners to join the Lift team! Sessional work; salaried part-time and salaried full-time opportunities available.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Lift Cancer Care Service, an innovative day hospital providing exercise medicine as an anti-cancer treatment. We are looking for someone passionate about this growing area of medicine to join team of Medical Practitioners at Lift. Opportunities for leadership exist for the right candidate.

As a fellowshipped, non-restricted GP you have many options as to where you could work. If the values of care, empowerment and accessibility align with your personal values, you may be the right person for this unique opportunity.
GP applicants must be 'unrestricted' - i.e. you must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA and not be subject to Medicare's 10 year moratorium. You will be a fellow of the RACGP.
The successful applicant will be passionate about working with patients undergoing cancer treatment and will be able to operate with a high level of autonomy, professional judgement and clinical competence.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE LOOK LIKE?
The Medical Practitioners at Lift facilitate the safe and appropriate access to evidence-based Exercise Medicine Treatment for people with cancer.
You will provide pre-exercise medical assessments for oncology patients presenting for Exercise Medicine Treatment at Lift.
You will work closely with the team of Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists as they deliver the exercise treatment and provide support to them in managing any clinical issues as they arise during the exercise treatment.
You will provide a medical check of patients prior to their discharge home.
This is a very defined clinical role that does not required any out of hours work such as chasing results, letter writing etc. so if you like certainty around your work hours, this role may be perfect for you!
