Chief Medical Officer (GP or Sports and Exercise Physician)
An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Lift Cancer Care Service, an innovative day hospital providing exercise medicine as an anti-cancer treatment. We are looking for someone passionate about this growing area of medicine to lead and grow the team of Medical Practitioners at Lift.
Full time
$250K plus super and entitlements
Who are you?
As a fellowshipped, non-restricted GP or Sports and Exercise Physician, you have many options as to where you could work. If the values of care, empowerment and accessibility align with your personal values, you may be the right person for this unique opportunity.
GP applicants must be 'unrestricted' - i.e. you must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA and not be subject to Medicare's 10 year moratorium. You will be a fellow of the RACGP.
The successful applicant will be passionate about working with patients undergoing cancer treatment and will be able to operate with a high level of autonomy, professional judgement and clinical competence.
What does the role look like?
Clinical Load
A clinical load will make up 70% of the role
You will be accountable or the overall smooth day to day management of the clinical floor, in partnership with Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiology staff.
You will oversee admissions and discharges of patients for Exercise Medicine Treatment and respond to clinical issues as they arise.
Leadership & Strategy
Leadership and strategy will make up 30% of the role
Work with the executive leadership team and develop your skills as a leader
Involvement in research relating to the Lift model of care
Development and provision of education to the medical and exercise medicine teams at Lift
Involvement in the continuous improvement and development of Exercise Medicine treatment at Lift
Build and develop relationships with Oncologists and other referring specialists.
